About

I’m John Ra [pronouced: genre]. I was first introduced to computer programming during my junior year in high school with GW-BASIC. It was a great introduction. Since earning my B.S. in Computer Science at Rutgers, I’ve been exposed to many languages over my 20+ year programming career.

In no particular order, I’ve developed in Pascal, Visual Basic, C, C++, Java, Prolog, Scheme, Perl, TypeScript, Go, Tcl/Tk, C#, Objective-C, and gawk/awk. However, these days, I code in my spare time for my enjoyment and hobby. I am a inventor of US Patent 10,681,048, a strategic leader with experience in defining product vision – identifying users’ need, solution, big picture for organization. I connect with executives and enable them to think beyond existing constraints – at my core, I’m still an engineer. I collaborate and influence partners to achieve our common goals.
